a grain of sand(Arnold Melleby, 10.04.2016)

one sinner
and one story to be told
a grain of sand
once broke the surface
of the mighty ocean
swallowed by a giant whale-shark
while passing through masses of plankton
and taken half way around the world
ending up on as a stranger on a beach
in a foreign land

waves rumbling towards the shore
the grain gets caught in a sideway riptide
as the tide dies off it´s just a few yards off
taken closer and closer to the open air
an introvert journey is coming to an end

at least that what the grain thought it gained
by going on this long and tiresome journey
for a while it thought it would just lay
lay on the beach and chill in the waves
day in and day out under a glorious sun

a father and his daughter
playing in the surf
he´s overactive showing the other beachgoers
hey, look at me, can´t you see
what a great father I am
she`s got her back to the ocean
her slippers picking up the grain
early evening and back home again
her slippers are tossed
the grain is thrown out on the floor
as a silent witness
to what´s going on
to what´s shaking the tiles
in this room
what a nightmare
what if the little grain of sand
had a voice and could speak, write, blog
and get the story told
the child would be spared
and wouldn´t have to live
through her own nightmares
every day
