please, turn on the light, I`ve seen enough(Arnold Melleby, 01.21.2018)

hey
who are we now
are we victims
or just crimes
in the path of others
I do not know

please turn on the light
I`ve seen enough

thanks to your coronary attitude
we`re counting bodies
instead of lives
giving the ones with our senses intact
hives

can you tell the difference
can you sense the smell of flowers
growing on top of mold
a lesson to be learned
this is how we grow old

washed away a million times
on distant shores
the grains found in your back pocket
ain`t the same
found between my toes
on the beach

please turn on the light
I`ve seen enough

the northern lights
aren`t visble down south
still cought by your retina
resembling
something out of reach

please turn on the light
I`ve seen enough

please turn on the light
I`ve seen enough
please turn on the light
I`ve seen enough

your footprints
are still found
in the sand
