a world on hold(Arnold Melleby, 03.28.2020)

a lonely jog
along the oceanside
not far from where I live
made me see and feel
what the seagulls
always have put on their display
too clever
to be wrong
life moves on
no matter what

this is what it`s like
to look evil in the eyes
this is what it`s like
being in the eye of the storm
for each and every one
this is what it`s like
to ride out a wave
over the deep, dark blue

a world on hold

a strange distance
rule the days
because it has to
a strange feeling
rule the nights
because it has to
when this plane
eventually comes in to land
we`ll all be gone
won`t we

a world on hold

when all of this is over
will you still hold my hand
like you used to
when all this is over
will you still giggle
at my funny remarks
to anything that`s serious
to make it delirious
just for you

a world on hold

well, you`ve stood in the crowd
for a while now
watching your show
as it unfolds
in front of the eyes
of everyone
only time will tell
if they`ll be back
pay the ticket
to come see you again

a world on hold
