the black doves are calling(Arnold Mellleby, 12.01.2024)

to gain your trust

I have to travel

twice the distance

making twice the journey

just to see you smile

one more time

not even if you took the louis out of louisiana

there would still be a river bed for me to crawl up on

to see you smile

one more time

the black doves are calling

the black doves are calling

the black doves are calling

calling out your name

and your little black heart

the time has come

and you cannot be late

the river fooled me once

but it won`t fool me again

this time I`m ahead of  the waves, currents and gators

on shore, undetected and unharmed

armed with nothing but love and a beating heart

beating for you

the sun has left the sky

the sand from the riverbed sticks to my skin

cold, naked and confused

will I get outta this alive

and first and foremost

where the hell are you

the black doves are calling

the black doves are calling

the black doves are calling

calling out your name

and your little black heart

the time has come

and you cannot be late

the black doves are calling

the black doves are calling

the black doves are calling

calling out your name

and your little black heart

the time has come

and you cannot be late

as darkness consumes me

and everything around me

I can smell genocide

all the way from here to eternity

an eternity you and I won`t be a part of

together

as the river takes me down the stream

the black doves are calling

the black doves are calling

the black doves are calling

calling out your name

and your little black heart

the time has come

and you cannot be late

the black doves are calling

the black doves are calling

the black doves are calling

calling out your name

and your little black heart

the time has come

and you cannot be late

you were too late
