the grand master(Arnold Melleby, 03.16.2016)

tired and lonely
don´t know where to go
don´t know where you´ve been
and just when you think you´ve seen it all
there I am

climbing
what seems to be
endless stairs
when you finally climb the last one
there I am

I am nude
from head to toe
don´t be rude
I´ll never let you go
I´ll never let you win
without me

I am the grand master
of what you call your life
I am the stage, actors and props
in your burlesque, Shakespeare or brand new play
and I´ll call the curtain
when it suits me
and not you
I am the grand master
of your life

act one
an act worth repeating
an act worth following
every line and scene
as I entered your life
who could ever end
anything like this
the pleasure is all mine

act two
then boredom set in
what else is new
but we figured out what to do
and went back to act one
and did it all over again
ignoring all signs of living in refusal
pouring another glass of champagne too many
and let it all out

act three
my deep nail marks on your windowsill
now also to be found on the outside
just where did it all go
is there a way back
well, I think I have a plan
as long as you do as I say
we´ll find back to our little heaven
and once more rule the sky

I am the grand master
of what you call your life
I am the stage, actors and props
in your burlesque, Shakespeare or brand new play
and I´ll call the curtain
when it suits me
and not you
I am the grand master
of your life

I am the grand master
of what you call your life
I am the stage, actors and props
in your burlesque, Shakespeare or brand new play
and I´ll call the curtain
when it suits me
and not you
I am the grand master
of your life
