once the tapping starts(Arnold Melleby, 12.04.2016)

mosquitoes plague the skin
they wanna get in
and drink directly from the source
who´s your next of kin
does it matter
I don´t know
once the tapping starts
you´ll run out of it
no matter what

spring came early this year
leaving the lake free and clear
as the ice again joined the waves
of the evening breeze
I know you´re hard to please
but, please, please, please
don´t ever disappear
my screams of longing
would haunt you into eternity

a garden of eden
is where I find myself
every time I get lost
if I had sheep
that´s where you´d find my herd
loosing myself in the sleep
the insomnia left me with
closing my eyes
to see clearly

the northern rain
serves me the pain
I embrace every day
leaving everyone else
with a void
that fills me up
from the bottom to the top

I turn the volume up
my neighbors tell me to stop
the night´s out of reach
as the morning makes a sudden approach
and I find it hard to cope
it´s hard to go straight
when you find yourself in a slope

once the tapping starts
you´ll run out of it
no matter what
